There are 2 new developer interviews available since last week.
One is a CGSociety interview with Art Director Ken Feldman and Lead Animator Bruno Velazquez. This is more for the technical minded, but easily understandable and really interesting.
The other interview by Electric Playground is a more personal story about Chris O'Neil, and how he has became God of War 3 Senior Level Designer. Here I have to give thanks to Jason for the heads up. Hit the jump for the articles.
Some bits from the CGSociety interview: "The programmers were able to create a system that allows the artist to use up to 50 lights per game object while not using the graphics processor. All dynamic lighting is done on the PS3’s SPUs. We separate direct light (dynamic lights and baked shadowing light) from indirect (ambient, skylight, bounce). This allows us to merge baked and dynamic shadows by blocking direct light."

Been a huge fan of GoW since the first game ,and GoW2 also .. and have been the ONLY games ive played for 3 years and still play daily trying to beat titan mode . GoW3 amazes me as at last after many years im seeng a game that looks and plays like modern day game should ... actually it looks like a first gen ps4 game !!
One thing i must say though is that i really miss having the instant shoulder barge on r2 button from GoW1 .. GoW2's gameplay lost something for me having that removed as that barge gave the player abitlity to make almost endless combo's ... i hope to see that move return or someting similar / All in all tho , i love both the first games and the tech talk of the interviews has inspired me to get into modelling again . so maybe we're going to see hercules in GoW4?? haha .. thanks for all the effort im sure it'll will be a agreat game
